Chandler Fire pulls off purr-fect rescue for kitten trapped in a sewer drain

CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — Chandler firefighters pulled out all the stops to rescue a tiny kitten stuck in a sewer drain.

The cat rescue happened Thursday evening at Alma School and Elliot Roads. The owner of Furniture & Mattress Discounters called fire crews after hearing the kitten in the drain.

The kitty fell 30 feet before being stuck in the drain!

Luckily, crews went to work fast and were able to rescue the kitten.

Thanks to the crew and Firefighter Riley, the kitten is safe, adopted, and now has a new name: Riley.

“Sometimes, the smallest saves make the biggest impact,” said Chandler Fire in a social media post.

Thank you Chandler Fire for saving Riley!
